Gameday…. sort of

December 28, 2009

Ahhh…. It’s Monday Afternoon…. In Shreveport! and it’s time to tee it up…. in the Independence Bowl!

Just not the same, is it? But we’ll survive. In a couple of hours I will be donning my red pants for the last time this year, and it’s definitely bittersweet. Bitter because we have 8 long months to wait until we see our team again; sweet because I have all confidence in the world that our boys are going to bring home a W today.

I’m just not buying it. I’ve heard all of the storylines about the little ways A&M might be able to win against us, and I’m just calling shenanigans. I’m going to voice a few predictions for this game:

-it is NOT a shootout.
-Washaun and/or Caleb King have 100+ days.
-AJ also has a 100+day.
-Our offense looks balanced and powerful for one of the first times this year
-Our defense plays a stellar game in remembrance of Willie.
-It’s no Hawaii Sugar Bowl, but we come in and get our business done.
-We make some sort of statement, not that we’re ridiculously good (we’re not,) but that we’re solid, our year wasn’t a total waste this year, and to watch out for us next year.
-We win with little-to-no question.
– Dawgs on top, 49-24

So, I encourage everybody to find something fun to do for the game. I’ll be watching it at my ladyfriend’s house, which will certainly be fun. Because hey, yes, it’s Shreveport, yes it’s the Independence Bowl, but it’s still Georgia Football. And let’s be serious, there ain’t nothin’ finer in the land.

Thanks for stopping by,

-Herschel Blogger

I originally predicted a 30-20 win. But I’m coming around to something more in your neighborhood. Now I truly think TAMU will need to score nearly every possession to win this one. And that won’t happen on Garner, Hartley and Doolittle’s watch.

So much for a shoot out. Looks like the defense started strong but still lacks the ability to finish on third and long? That needs to be a goal for next year. Stop the opposing team on third and long.
